General Information
The DHIP is an affordable insurance plan designed to protect domestic helpers such as housemaids, drivers, gardeners, cooks, and other household workers. It provides financial coverage in cases of death, permanent total disability due to accidents or sickness, and permanent partial disability due to accidents. The coverage is a lump-sum amount of QAR 50,000.
Eligible domestic workers include housemaids, drivers, gardeners, cleaners, cooks, nannies, household maintenance workers, and other full-time domestic helpers employed in Qatar. Workers must be between 18 and 60 years at enrollment. For renewals, maximum age is 65 years. The insured must have a valid QID and be sponsored by a citizen or resident of Qatar.
Each insured worker is covered for QAR 50,000 during the policy period.
Death due to any cause, permanent total disability due to accident or sickness, and permanent partial disability due to accidents as per the Continental Scale.
1-year coverage costs QAR 100 and 2-year coverage costs QAR 200. These are one-time payments with no hidden fees.
Coverage is valid for either 12 months or 24 months and starts immediately from the policy start date.
